About the Artist

Scott Hovis

When I was 20 years old, I was searching for a way to freely express myself and cope with the challenges I was facing. Through therapy and counseling, I connected with a psychotherapist who became a mentor to me. They helped me realize that I could take my struggles and turn them into something beautiful—an opportunity to express what was inside without using words or sounds, but through colors, shapes, patterns, and movement. This allowed me to channel pain, confusion, and difficult emotions into works of art. It was about transforming a challenge into an opportunity, believing that it could not only help me but also others as I embarked on this journey. It marked the birth of something very special: ultimate freedom.

The Process

Behind the Art

My art is deeply rooted in personal experience. Living with Tourette’s syndrome has shaped how I see the world, and that perspective is reflected in every piece I create. My work is purely emotional and intuitive—no references, no planned compositions. Everything is created from within, from the emotions and thoughts that are running through me at that moment. Each painting is an original, one-of-a-kind piece that cannot be found anywhere else nor duplicated by anyone.

Can I commission a similar piece or a different size?

Yes, I can create custom pieces similar in style or replicate the emotional tone of a painting in a different size. Each piece remains unique, however.

Do you ship internationally?

I offer international shipping on all my works. Please note that the buyer is responsible for shipping costs.

Can I return or exchange my purchase?

All sales are final. I do not accept returns, refunds, or exchanges unless the artwork arrives damaged or is significantly different from what was pictured on the website.
